ATI released 10.4 the newest iteration of it’s Catalyst display drivers earlier this morning, which the company says will fix long Battlefield: Bad Company 2 loading times.

The press release however, reveals that while the company has resolved the issue on 5000 series cards, the lengthy loads will persist on the 2000, 3000 and 4000 series of graphics cards.

Users on NeoGAF discovered that the drivers are an older version than the recently released Bad Company 2 hotfix drivers which fixed the loading times for cards other than the 5000 series.

“With the beta drivers it would take around 5 seconds to load a map, now it takes over 30” posted NeoGAF user Salacious Crumb.

Empire: Total War performance can also decrease by “up to 34%” when using Anti-Aliasing and Windows 7, the release notes revealed.

Aside from multiple bug fixes across all versions of Windows, the drivers also deliver “up to 6%” increased performance in 4A’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky.

The new drivers are available to download from ATI’s website.
